I understand that a home represents many things – real property, a financial asset, shelter and ultimately, a refuge of family warmth where lifetime memories are created. Since the decisions involved are inherently personal, the process of buying a home is much more about people than it is about property. My commitment is to deliver a uniquely personal and positive buying experience.

The decision to buy a home can be an exciting and overwhelming time. “How do we start?” is a common question. I hope that my website can serve as a guide as you begin this process. Start with the basics. Where do you want to live? Do you prefer the feel of a city or a village? Are you looking for a particular city, town or geographic area?  Click on the Resources tab, where I have included information about Pelham, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck and Harrison, my areas of expertise.  Click on the links to preview our 2 minute video clip and access other information about each specific town.

You should also consider how location will this affect your commuting time to work and other activities? What size of home do you and your family require? Is there a particular architectural style that you prefer? How important is the condition of the home? Realistically, do you want "move in", "needs a little TLC" or "builder's special" which could mean a complete renovation? Are you willing to give up a large yard for a 10 minute walk to the train station? It is helpful to create 2 lists, one with your wants and one with your needs. Once you get a clearer idea of your preferences it is time to take a close look at what you can afford. It is important to take into account property taxes and possible common charges in addition to financing expenses. To get a true picture, it is best to speak to a mortgage professional.

In today’s real estate market, buyers are obtaining pre-approval for mortgages prior to purchasing their property. There are many advantages to obtaining a pre-approval including,

·         It gives you a complete picture of the purchase price you can afford.

·         It prepares you to make an offer on a property and tells sellers that you are a serious buyer by indicating your creditworthiness and financial ability to complete the purchase.

·         It expedites the purchase process. Only a fully executed contract of sale and a home appraisal will be subsequently required.
